BRIDGE BUILDERS
Through Adult Ministries, the Church of the Nazarene is actively responding to the large and growing group of
maturing adults within the churches and communities we serve. The overarching purpose of our focus is on the
salvation and spiritual nurture, growth, and continued service of this group within the context of each local church.
Mature adults are vitally important to our church. They represent an enormous wealth of resources vital to the
ongoing health and growth of our local churches.

The Church of the Nazarene recognizes the tremendous contribution mature adults in many local congregations
have already made during their lifetime. Further, Adult Ministries emphasizes the significant ministry potential that
still resides within this group as we minister to, through, and with mature adults throughout our denomination.
OUR MISSION - Bridge Builders exist to connect people to God and to each other.

"Now I am telling the world your wonders, I'll keep at it until I'm old and gray. God, don't
walk off and leave me until I get out the news of your strong right arm to this world, news
of your power to the world yet to come."  - Psalm 71:18, The Message
Bridge Builders, a Prime Time Ministry at South Church of the Nazarene, encourages adults 55 and above to
remain vital components of the church's ministries. Bridge Builders want "to declare God's purpose to the next
generation." The focus of Prime Time Ministries is to provide a setting for spiritual renewal, social enrichment,
and personal and ministry growth for senior adults.

The specific opportunities to grow spiritually and socially are offered through the Joy and Messenger Adult
Sunday School classes where adults encourage one another through prayer, study of God's Word, fellowship
together, and reaching out to others with God's message of love and salvation.
Four Components in Successful Bridge Builder Ministry:

  • Evangelism - Help People Meeting Christ
  • Edification - Help People Grow in Christ
  • Equipping - Training People to Serve Christ
  • Empowerment - Help People Serve Christ

Ministry belongs to everyone! Whether working or retired, what is your ministry? How are you using your gifts to
serve the Lord and His Kingdom? You belong at South in Bridge Builders - Connecting People to God
and to Each Other.
