Dear Friends,
I trust you have been having a week, filled with hope and encouragement. I was
visiting one of our members a couple of days ago in the Holt Senior Care and Rehab
Center. As we all do from time to time, we need to encourage each other. We sang a
hymn together about having an anchor that keeps the soul.
The old hymn, "We Have An Anchor," comes from Hebrews 6:18-19..."we who have
fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. We have this
hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure."
As we move into a bright future here at "SouthNaz," (as I've heard our church
affectionately called numerous times) we want to keep doing what the Bible says in 1
Thessalonians 5:11: "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just
as in fact you are doing."
This Sunday morning is going to be another great morning of worship that you
won't want to miss. The theme is "Open to the Holy Spirit" and the text is John 16:7-14.
I hope you can join us!
Both Denise and I want you to know our hearts are filled with joy at the opportunity
to serve you as Lead Pastor. She is coming in this Saturday to spend a week! We
look forward to sharing our lives with all of you. Our goal is to be permanently moved
here by the middle or end of October.
In the mean time, we live in two worlds as we strive to pack up and sell our home
in Kansas City and say good-bye to 17 years of precious relationships. Thanks for
your patience as we move through the relocation process. We covet your prayers in the
days ahead.
If you can help Steve Warner during these days for a four hour block of time,
please notice the announcement below. If this week-end finds you away from us for
the Labor Day Week-End, we hope you will join us in worship on-line! We're going to
have a great Lord's Day...wonderful days are ahead...you are loved...
